Collegiate Recovery
The Well on Campus
The Collegiate Recovery Network is about creating space for students to connect around recovery, whether they’re seeking support for themselves, a friend, or a family member. Sometimes that looks like Taco Tuesday on campus, where Seed Sower staff share food, laughter, and real conversation with students.

We’re proud to partner with WVU-Tech and help bring student-centered recovery resources and connections to campus life.

Evidence-Based Synergies
Recovery Capital Growth Model & The CHIME Framework
Recovery Capital Growth Model (RCGM)
Recovery Capital refers to the personal and external resources that support both starting and sustaining recovery. The more Recovery Capital someone has, the stronger their foundation for long-term success. It includes:

-
Personal Recovery Capital: A person’s health, skills, values, and resilience.
-
Social Recovery Capital: Supportive relationships with family, peers, and community.
-
Community Recovery Capital: Access to services, employment, education, and stable housing.
-
Cultural Recovery Capital: Shared values, beliefs, and a sense of belonging that reinforce recovery.
By understanding and strengthening these areas, we can better support meaningful, lasting recovery.

The CHIME Framework
CHIME is a widely recognized framework that highlights five key elements that support personal recovery: Connectedness, Hope, Identity, Meaning, and Empowerment.

-
Connectedness: Building relationships with others and feeling part of a community.
-
Hope: Believing that recovery is possible and supported by optimism and encouragement.
-
Identity: Reclaiming a positive sense of self, separate from the experience of addiction.
-
Meaning: Finding purpose through personal values, goals, and roles in life.
-
Empowerment: Gaining confidence, using personal strengths, and making choices that shape your recovery.
Developed through a review of hundreds of studies, CHIME is an evidence-based, person-centered model that reflects what individuals in recovery say matters most. It’s not a step-by-step process, but a flexible guide to lasting, meaningful change.
