Kick off to Recovery

The 5th Annual Kick Off to Recovery takes place at Magic Island in Charleston, WV. Hosted by West Virginia Sober Living, this family-friendly community event celebrates National Recovery Month with a 5K walk/run, a cornhole tournament, food vendors, live music, and a recovery resource fair. Save a Life Day
Statewide naloxone distribution and overdose prevention events. Local organizations across West Virginia can register to host community events. This would be an excellent addition to a recovery calendar. Details at soarwv.org

Healing Appalachia Festival

Healing Appalachia 2026 will be paused as Hope in the Hills focuses resources on recovery programs across Appalachia. While the festival will not take place this year, the mission continues. The festival will return September 10–11, 2027 at Boyd County Fairgrounds in Ashland, Kentucky. In the meantime, your support helps keep hope alive and moves us closer to our goal of investing $2 million in recovery programs across the region. Details at Healing Appalachia

West Virginia Goes Purple Recovery Fest

This is a statewide movement bringing together individuals, families, and organizations from across all 55 counties to raise awareness about substance use disorder, celebrate recovery, and support those still struggling. Held at War Memorial Park (Main Pavilion) from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. This is FREE and open to the public. Attendees can connect with recovery support and resource vendors, treatment providers from across West Virginia, and a variety of health, wellness, education, and training opportunities. The event will also feature Narcan education and take-back awareness, live music, guest speakers, food trucks, games, activities, and giveaways—all in a family-friendly environment focused on connection, support, and breaking the stigma.
